Don't Be Afraid To Be Who You Are - Auradon Side

The Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down

Just over a week after the Isle visit people would find themselves drawn outside. The reason might vary, it was a lovely day and the air had the sweet scent of spring. It was the first truly warm day, and perhaps that was it. But for whatever reason everyone, or nearly everyone, found themselves outside and then drifted peacefully off to sleep.

As they slept a gentle rain came down upon them, soft enough to wake only those in a cursed sleep. The water not only broke dark spells and curses on the people the rain touched but for some people it brought a very different sort of transformation.

A number of the Missrecalled might find themselves awakening older than they had been when they fell asleep. Some of them might awaken with all their older self's memories, or maybe those would come with time, or maybe the memories would need more help to return. But when everyone awoke with a light dew on their faces and clothes, some people would be in for quite the surprise....

After the odd outdoor nap, many might wish to head into their rooms to get changed and freshen up. Or maybe they wouldn't go back to their room for a while, but when they did they would find a gift on their beds waiting for them....

She nodded and walked closer. "Alright. Tell me where to hold on to not hinder you."

Flying! She was going to get to go flying!

She wondered if he'd curse like Clint if she messed with hi flight feathers, but decided to save that till after he actually liked her... Or at least didn't hate her enough to stop taking her flying...

Sephiroth would be mad to have his feathers messed with, especially on purpose. He took very good care of his wings. Of course, Sephiroth being Sephiroth, he wouldn’t be likely to explode with anger, but when he was mad, people knew it.

He instructed her on where to hold and how he would hold and demonstrated to get her used to it. There was a soft, wistful look in his eyes, remembering when he took Zack flying sometimes.

Teela would have laughed at her if she could see her now. Thankfully Teela wasn't here. Thankfully Bellusdeo wasn't either or she might get offended that Kaylin was excited about this and... less enthused about flying with her sometimes roommate... There was a big difference. Flying Dragon-back was far too much like riding a horse. If they chose to dump her, she would fall and probably die. If this guy or Clint or any of the others chose to drop her, she had a reasonable chance of taking them down with her...

"Fill me in while we fly?" she asked, to try and cover her own thoughts. Sadly her face was expressive and as Marcus liked to say, she even thought loudly.

"I feel it's better for people to be prepared for what will happen before we actually take flight," he said. "Especially as here, I can't really fly as I normally would." Which seriously irked him, but he still flew what he could anyway, to keep his wings in shape.

"Why can't you fly right? Are you injured? Ocean wall it, where is Hope?!" She could use his help right about then.

“I’m fine, but there’s a barrier preventing anyone from flying higher than four feet from whatever ground they start with.” He flicked a wing in annoyance.

"There is a WHAT?!" she asked, incredulous and indignant.

“I don’t understand it either,” Sephiroth said. “I’ve had to make do with it anyway because I need to fly to keep my wings strong, but it’s been more than a little inconvenient finding a place where I won’t hit trees or people.”

"What the actual happinesses kind of messed up magic is this spit?!"

“I wish I knew,” Sephiroth said dryly. “It doesn’t seem to be something that anyone here deliberately did. I gather it’s a side effect of the magic that started pulling everyone from their respective worlds.”

The next few minutes were seriously multilingual, though most of it was clearly altered like the stuff in a language he could understand.

Sephiroth listened, arms folded. Finally he said, “It isn’t the flight either of us want, but it’s the best I can do right now. Do you still want to come?”

"Of course," she said. "Let's go."

Sephiroth held onto her and took flight as best as he could. He flew around the area to see who else was affected by this strange spell and then kept going to fly around the grounds.

She looked down as they flew, wishing she could do this herself. "What do I need to know now that I'm stuck here as an adult?" she asked, eyes taking in everything.

Sephiroth looked amused by the question. “In general, or in Auradon specifically?”

"Start with Auradon, we can work our way out. Who is in charge of enforcing the laws here?"

“They don’t seem to have a dedicated person for that right now,” Sephiroth said. “People seem to go to the King and Queen when they have problems. I myself would like the task of being security or law enforcement, if needed. So far it seems they haven’t had problems that require those occupations.”

But he patrolled unofficially anyway.

"What the actual happiness? What is it with these places and not having law enforcement? I'm a Hawk back home. And they have to have something if the Isle is supposed to be a Gods curst prison."

“I have wondered that about the Isle myself,” Sephiroth remarked. “I’m assuming Yen Sid was there partially to keep order, but then he was badly injured.”

"Injured? Maybe I can help..." She frowned. Marcus had told her to keep what she could do a secret. So had Severn at a different part of their lives. They could both go scream down the river. Emergencies and secrets didn't mesh.

Sephiroth perked up at that. “Do you have healing powers?” He had regretted not being able to help himself, but his powers were more for destruction.

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone about them but yes. If they work here, anyway. On the Isle I don't think they did. But I only tried once."

“Powers don’t work on the Isle, but they should here, at least to some extent,” Sephiroth said.

"Then yes. How badly injured and how quickly can you get me there?" she asked, concerned.

(As a mod note, he was healed enough to be walking on his own once they got back to Aruadon, via Aqua and possibly others)
