The Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down

Just over a week after the Isle visit people would find themselves drawn outside. The reason might vary, it was a lovely day and the air had the sweet scent of spring. It was the first truly warm day, and perhaps that was it. But for whatever reason everyone, or nearly everyone, found themselves outside and then drifted peacefully off to sleep.

As they slept a gentle rain came down upon them, soft enough to wake only those in a cursed sleep. The water not only broke dark spells and curses on the people the rain touched but for some people it brought a very different sort of transformation.

A number of the Missrecalled might find themselves awakening older than they had been when they fell asleep. Some of them might awaken with all their older self's memories, or maybe those would come with time, or maybe the memories would need more help to return. But when everyone awoke with a light dew on their faces and clothes, some people would be in for quite the surprise....

After the odd outdoor nap, many might wish to head into their rooms to get changed and freshen up. Or maybe they wouldn't go back to their room for a while, but when they did they would find a gift on their beds waiting for them....

"I'm sure we'll find something to bet with here," she said with a bit of a grin. Then she scowled. "I can't swear so there has to be some ocean walled fun here."

“I’m sure you will,” he agreed, while at the same time wondering what was fun about swearing. “Those living here seem to be able to find fun.”

"That your way of saying the booze here is good at least?"

“Hmm. That’s a good question. I don’t actually recall seeing any here.”

Her face was probably priceless. "Let... me get this straight. Pretty much no betting. No laws to enforce, no swearing, no booze, flight is somehow limited... what the actual happinesses is done here for fun?"

Completely deadpan, he replied, "They seem to have fun making up songs about absolutely everything."

He had certainly had a WTH reaction the first time he had seen that.

"What the actual happinesses? Do they all have brain damage?!"

"Let's say they believe in very heavy dosages of positivity," Sephiroth smirked.

"Remind me why the actual happinesses I don't want to go back to the ocean walled Isle?"

"The food is better and there isn't the stench of mold in the buildings," Sephiroth replied.

"I hate that you have a point." She pulled a face.

Sephiroth was further amused. “At least they haven’t forced participation in the singing, either.”

Although he was good enough that he could if he wanted.

"They'd regret it if they tried." It didn't sound like she meant it as a threat and hr expression was cringing. There were a few times she had been made to sing publicly but only the fact that it had been life or death had gotten her to do it.

He looked further amused at that. “Luckily, that shouldn’t be an issue.”

"Still leaves me with no clue what the actual happinesses to do here."

“I as well. Perhaps we can figure it out together.”

She gave him an odd and wary look. "If that's your way of flirting let me stop you right there, 'cause it is not going to be anything even remotely resembling fun."

No matter what Severn and Nightshade wanted, that wasn't her. She couldn't cope with it.

She actually shuddered at the thought of dating at all disgusted her, brought up the worst memories.

Sephiroth found that even more amusing. “I only flirt with Cloud.”

Completely aside from the fact that he was not about to flirt with someone who had been a child hours earlier.

"Oh. Well. Good. Is... that this place's way of trying to change something you were saying about flying or... is there actually someone named... Cloud....?" She was so incredulous at that.

"That is actually his name," Sephiroth said in amusement.

"What the actual happinesses was his mother thinking? Let's name my baby after something his brothers and sisters will fly through....?"

"His mother's name was Claudia, so perhaps it was an attempt to have a male version of that other than Claude?" Sephiroth mused. He really had no idea. But he liked the name Cloud much more than Claude.

"Making me glad I'm usually on my way home before names are chosen," she said, shaking her head forgetting he has zero context for that comment. Mostly because she's suddenly remembering Roshan's birth and she felt like she had fur on her tongue again.

"Hm?" He definitely wondered about that one, as it appeared to make little sense.

"Hm what hm?" She was so confused, just used to everyone knowing about her moonlighting gig. If you could even call it that given she didn't get paid.
