The Rain Rain Rain Came Down Down Down

Just over a week after the Isle visit people would find themselves drawn outside. The reason might vary, it was a lovely day and the air had the sweet scent of spring. It was the first truly warm day, and perhaps that was it. But for whatever reason everyone, or nearly everyone, found themselves outside and then drifted peacefully off to sleep.

As they slept a gentle rain came down upon them, soft enough to wake only those in a cursed sleep. The water not only broke dark spells and curses on the people the rain touched but for some people it brought a very different sort of transformation.

A number of the Missrecalled might find themselves awakening older than they had been when they fell asleep. Some of them might awaken with all their older self's memories, or maybe those would come with time, or maybe the memories would need more help to return. But when everyone awoke with a light dew on their faces and clothes, some people would be in for quite the surprise....

After the odd outdoor nap, many might wish to head into their rooms to get changed and freshen up. Or maybe they wouldn't go back to their room for a while, but when they did they would find a gift on their beds waiting for them....

"Indeed. I suggest you keep an eye out for a lady here named Aqua. I suspect she'd be happy to help you train... in fact, I would go so far as to say that the opportunity to do so would, itself, be something of a blessing to her." It was probably for the best that she'd looked away from Kaylin as she tidied the buffet table, giving herself a little moment to stifle the smile that threatened.

"Aqua, got it. Wait... Doesn't that mean Water?" And now her mind was somewhere else, thinking about elemental Water as she rubbed at her arms, which thankfully have stopped glowing.

“Yes, it does mean that,” Sephiroth said. “And she would indeed be most happy to have someone she could assist with training.”

"Sky blue hair, about to here..." She gestured to the length. "She gets up early in the mornings. Perhaps you can catch her in the gardens? Or jogging laps around the school grounds...?"

[kaylinneya]

"Early... in the mornings..." just the thought of that made her look a little pale and ill. She... did not do well with mornings.

"Or perhaps you would rather train with me later in the day?" Sephiroth suggested.

"Or both. It isn't as though she goes to bed before noon." Satisfied that the buffet was in order, she glanced to Sephiroth. "Have you been training with her, out of curiosity?"

"Later in the day is better, that's for ocean walled sure. I'm not exactly good at waking up on time."

Hope squawked, though let Mallia hear his squawking as words. "She isn't amused when I wake her..."

“I have trained some with Aqua, yes,” Sephiroth said. “I enjoy it.”

He smirked in amusement. “We’ll plan on it for the afternoon then. Or evening.”

"And I'll leave the physical training to those of physical nature," Mallia said, smiling a little more. "Please, let me know if anything here needs attending to. That includes you as well, little one." That was to Hope, and it was rather obvious.

Kaylin nodded, first to him then to her.

Hope smirked and squawked unintelligibly. Kayin closed hand over his jaw. "I actually need my hearing you know."

He made a muffled protest and smacked hr face with his wing.

Sephiroth nodded. "Thank you."

He reached for his plate of food, deciding it was safe now to eat.

She pushed back to her feet, embarrassed, getting her plate as well.

...And with that, Mallia headed back to her table off in the corner, to go re-bury herself in whatever it was she was working on....

Sephiroth hoped to get her mind on something else so she wouldn’t feel so embarrassed.

“Do you want to start training today?”

As opposed to tomorrow.

"After food," she said with a firm nod. Her stomach agreed loudly. "And you can teach me some height based attacks. I could always use more of those."

"You won't get indigestion to train right after eating?"

[kaylinneya]

She shrugged. "Maybe, but if I don't eat now I may not hold up through training. I was apparently a child last time I ate," she said, dryly.

"We can start an hour or so after eating." Sephiroth didn't want to get indigestion himself.

[kaylinneya]

She rolled her eyes. "Fine," she said, huffing a bit.

Sephiroth continued to calmly eat, relieved for the relative peace at the moment. The wings were involuntarily twitching at times.

She kept watching them as she ate. And ate. And ate. Hope just chewed on her hair, even when she got up to get seconds. And thirds.

Sephiroth was amused. Zack had enjoyed such big meals as well. He wondered if she normally ate so much or if it was just because of suddenly aging up. But it would seem tactless to ask, and he didn't want to cause her to stop eating if she was still hungry.

He set his plate aside and folded his arms.

She saw him finish and hurried to bolt down the rest of her food. Then sh noticed something by the food table. "Spit," she muttered. She got up and retrieved her bracer. She put it back on and closed it. It had no visible hinge. Closed anyway.

"So I have to keep myself busy till you're ready, right?"

"You could say that," he agreed.

"That is an intriguing bracelet."
