What: Now that the days are getting longer and the possibility of not being stuck inside any more looks imminent, Lea is feeling motivated. Time to get things done, some of which he's been putting off for awhile.

Fire And Water- Closed to Aqua

Another training session in the gym, virtually indistinguishable from most of the others since they'd been stuck inside. Though, this time, Lea hung back afterwards, looking thoughtful. "Aqua?", he said. "If you've got a few minutes, there's some things I want to talk to you about."

Magitek For Fun And Profit

Lea reading isn't that rare of a sight, but when one does spot him, he's usually curled up in one of the library's comfy chairs or stretched out the common room sofa with a cup of tea and either a stack of comic books or a YA novel or two. But today, Lea's seated at one of the library's tables. The cup of tea is still present nearby but his attitude is different, as is his choice of reading material. The book open in front of him looks more like a textbook or other nonfiction title than anything else, and he has a open notebook and pen right at hand, occasionally pausing in his reading to note things down. What is it that could have given Lea of all people the urge to study?

Let The Sun Shine In

Lea was walking through the greenhouse, but at present, his focus wasn't on any of the plants. Instead, he was looking up, carefully directing his magic to melt any lingering patches of snow on the roof. He knew his way around well enough to avoid stepping on any flowerbeds or bumping into tables, planters, or equipment racks. Most of the time, the only interruption might be if the ent got a little too curious about his hair, but that had mostly been solved by a few well placed colorful bangles hung from the ceiling on strings. But looking up does tend to make it easy to run into people or other non-stationary obstacles that might be on the walkways. Assuming you're not just trying to figure out what he's looking at.

Let There Be Light

Lea was rummaging through one of the supply closets, apparently looking for something. And without much success, by the sound of it. "Come on, they've gotta be here someplace," he said. "You'd think a school like this would have a whole crate or something of spares sitting around, but nooo..."

"Thanks," he said. "Should I come along, wait here, come as far as the door to the castle then wait there, or what?"

She laughed. "We're not exactly formal. Do what you want."

He nodded. "OK, I'll come with then," he said. "That way I'll know where they are if I ever need more replacements."

She shrugged. "Probably best to still ask me or Ben for them, but the way these places work... who knows if we'll even be around when they are needed next..." She shook her head.

"I mean, we could always just bring them back with us and stick them on a tall shelf instead of leaving them in a whole other building," he said. "That's what we always did at my house as a kid, and it'd be way more convenient." He didn't comment on the rest of it, mostly because he didn't feel like tempting fate by denying the likelihood of such.

"You thinking putting them on a high shelf will keep them from getting stolen or broken is proof if I ever needed it that you didn't grow up on the Isle," she said with a laugh.

"True, but no one in their right mind is gonna steal lightbulbs here," Lea said. "And most people don't have whole other buildings to store stuff in, and they get by just fine with putting breakable stuff on out of reach shelves and things. Though we could always put them in a locked cabinet or something, if you're that worried."

"You do realize that for the right art project a year ago I absolutely would have stolen them, yes?" Then she sighed and some of the flip attitude drained out of her. "And if we had everyone here who is supposed to be here and access to the rest of Auradon I wouldn't be worried in the least. But if something happens to these" to any of their supplies "we can't just hit the store to buy more. And if we just depend on one person's magic for everything, what happens if she vanishes one day?"

"I mean... given that you're Ben's fiancé, they'd kinda be your lightbulbs anyway, so I dunno if I'd really call that stealing them," he said. "But you got a point about the last bit." He considered. "Maybe just bring one box or two of each size back and keep them here? That way most of them will still be safe, but we won't have to go all that way every time we need one"

"I wasn't then, just a girl friend. Well, a year ago his time, not mine. But yeah, maybe we can bring a box or two. I'll talk to Ben."

Privately, Lea still thought it wouldn't have counted as stealing, but that was neither here nor there. "Sounds like a plan," he said. "And other random supplies you've got stashed over there, by the way? Just to save potential future hunts if I ever need certain things."

"Depends what you're needing, a girl isn't about to give away all her secrets and a dragon has to have her hoard," she teased with a wink and a wicked grin as she sped up a bit.

"Nothing else I need right now," he said, "but if there any other common items you've got stashed the same place as the lightbulbs, might be good to know before I spend a now rather embarrassingly long time on a futile hunt for something. Because I may or may have spent the last hour or so searching the school for light bulbs and would rather not repeat the process if I need... I dunno, clothes pins or something."

"And it never dawned on you that Ben and I might be easier to find and have the answer?" she asked, amused.

Lea shrugged. "I figured you guys are busy enough without people bugging you over every little thing," he said. "I'm an adult, at least in theory; I should be able to handle basic stuff like replacing a lightbulb on my own."

"If we had stores and you had your own supply or could buy them whenever you want, sure. But being an adult doesn't mean you magically have to know everything. If it does, I'm in big trouble, because sure as Dalmatians are spotty and Cruella is dotty, I sure don't."

"Didn't think it did," he said. "And frankly I'd be just as out of luck if that were a requirement. But basic stuff? Cooking, keeping my room in some semblance of order, changing light bulbs or doing other simple chores without needing to ask permission or directions, that kinda stuff I've had to learn to do. And I've generally been used to communal supplies like paper products and light bulbs being stored in a specific spot, so as long as you know where that spot is, you're generally good to go. Just didn't figure it'd be in a whole other building, or I might've asked."

"Well now you know," she said with a chuckle. "Chalk it up to Isle induced paranoia, but I want to make sure what supplies we have are safe."

Lea nodded, then looked thoughtful. "Ya know, I wonder if I could make lightbulbs?", he said. "We've got metal and glass, after all. The tricky part would probably be the filaments or LEDs though..." He considered a moment before shaking his head. "Eh, maybe if we ever run short on the real deal we can worry about that."

"For now though, let's go get the one I need right now, and maybe a couple extras," he said. "It'll be good to know where they are, just in case."
