Let's See What's In The Cards (Mmhm)

The weather was still bitterly cold, and the snow was still thick on the ground, but it was finally possible to at least go outside by the front doors. The King and Queen have still forbidden anyone from staying overnight at the museum district in case it started snowing again. But the King could be seen outside trying to shovel snow enough to make a path to the castle at the least.

The snow was still too thick to get easily anywhere not shoveled, and the snow was so heavy that even beasted out, Ben needed to take constant breaks inside to sit down and dry off. This wasn't going to be a fast task.

It was only made harder when it started. For those who slept, it would start after they have fully awoken for the day. For those who don't sleep, they'd find that they had fallen into a pleasant daydream, even if it wasn't normal for them to do so. When they came out of it, that was when it would start for them.

But what is it, exactly?

Small snippets of memories, playing for anyone who was with the person remembering to see. But the thing was, these memories... were memories the person had not yet made. Memories of the future.

Not enough to give answers, probably not enough to give reassurances for much other than "oh hey, I do have a future after all," but generally pleasant, and short. Hey, it will give people a thing to talk about, at least. Especially since this will go on for the next two weeks or so.

“Hm, that is a good point. Some owls are pretty capable of cracking open things in order to get to the seeds and nuts. I might try to let her to try eating nuts and seeds later in the day. She could sure enjoy some of that and avoid getting bored with eating her usual prey hunting all the time,” Harry is taking notes in his head on what he could give to Hedwig as he speaks.

The owl herself hoots in amusement, she would like to try out new things that don’t involve small prey animals for a change.

Leia nodded. "I wish I could ask her what kind of nuts she might like to try," she said. "But I can't talk to animals here; I'd need my necklace from the Magic Kingdoms for that."

“You have a special necklace in the Magic Kingdoms that allows you to speak animal?” Harry’s brows raises in intrigue, “I know of at least one person who had been granted the ability to speak animal through animal magic in Avalon.”

Leia nodded. "I let me use other magic too," she said. "But I didn't have it when I went home, and then I forgot about it til I was here. So I don't have it right now."

“So it was left behind in the Magic Kingdoms?” he makes a quick recap before he speaks again, “I see. I’m pretty certain that I have some stuff that I got in Avalon that didn’t come with me upon my arrival into this place. If I may ask you, does the necklace also function similarly to a wand in terms of casting magic?”

"I don't know," she said. "Probably though. Or maybe it just disappeared? I dunno how magic jewelry works as far as other worlds go."

"And kinda, I think? I didn't have to point it at stuff or anything, But I couldn't do magic without it. I picked it out of a big chest full of other magic jewelry, and the one other thing I tried didn't feel right. The necklace did."

“It sounds like your necklace chose you well. A man from my world had once told me something when I went through a similar case to your situation when I was younger: he said that the wand chooses the person it deems as worthy,” Harry could notice a similarity between his wand choosing him and how Leia got her magical necklace.

Now it has him wondering if the other him she had met in the Magic Kingdoms experienced a similar case with his chosen tool while in there.
