Mal gulped down the coffee all in one go. Because there was always the chance it could be rotten. And Mal having a cup of rotten coffee almost invariably led to Jay swiping it before she could get a sip.
Of course, she thought that after she gulped it and regretted it. Even losing magical coffee would be wroth it if it brought Jay back home...
