Mallia nodded, noted the little pink one going after the other dishes, and eyed the bowl of eggs... well, she knew owls were carnivorous, but that's precisely where her problem with providing this was, unfortunately. Just because owls didn't eat boiled eggs in the wild, well... she'd hoped, but if it wouldn't do....
A silent sigh, putting one loosely-closed hand up to her lower lip as she thought it over. "I've never eaten rodents, though. I'd have no idea how they ought to taste." Nor, realistically, any confidence to speak of that this bird would be able to directly steer her magic toward giving it the taste it expected. It was a feat for humans, as it was, enough so that it was nearly unheard-of....
"But... I wonder...." It was barely a murmur to herself, as she focused on something in her other hand, opening it carefully... and then held it out for Hedwig in offering. What was it, a smallish crustacean? A fat green body, maybe two inches at its widest, with a couple skinny, short little legs... it might have looked familiar, but it was hard to say. It wasn't flat enough to be a crab, nor did it look to have any pinchers or other natural weapons. And it was about half translucent... but perhaps it would appeal to the fluffy raptor? It wasn't a rodent, for that kind of meat, and it would certainly prove soft enough to manage, if it tried....
