Wizard has been displaced

What: Harry has been displaced across the multiverse AGAIN

So this is it: he is about to return home after helping out in saving Avalon and the world from being frozen in time for nearly two years. And he does miss home so much that once Excalibur has been destroyed and time and the multiverse has been saved, he thought that now is the time to go back and rest up from a long endgame fight with a cursed sword. As much as he wants to stay here, he has a mess of a battle aftermath to clean up, a destroyed school to come to, friends who are missing him badly now, and a community that needs to rebuild itself. The situation his world is in is not that great but he does need to go back and help in the repairs soon.

Or that is what he thought how that day would end because he soon finds himself being transported into a very unfamiliar place. For the second time in his life, Harry has been very much displaced across the multiverse again. He takes a look around to see if he has everything from Avalon with him. Relief settles in when he finds that Hedwig in her cage is there, and much to his own surprise, even Rose too. Wait a minute, he thought that he had tried to say goodbye to her in Avalon so seeing the little pink Pygmy Puff is a big surprise to him. Then he turns to find that his polearm had become very padded and his phone from Avalon didn’t work as at all. So he can’t be able to call King Arthur for help anytime soon.

But the most confusing thing he has stumbled upon to date happens to be the giant and grand scale of the castle before him. He knows that castles can be big in space like with Hogwarts Castle but this one has to take the cake. And it is a lot more beautiful than what Hogwarts is currently at, whoever did the maintance work sure does put a lot of effort to make it super pristine as it can be. But all he can muster to say at this time as he looks more confused by his new situation is “Where in the world I am in now?”

“Oh. Um, does he try to use healing magic too much?” he wonders if a change in topics would be needed at this time as they both make their way to the boys’ dorms, “Or we can switch topics for the moment instead.”

"He gets himself half killed to trigger my white magic when I didn't realize we were fighting a necromancer or infernomancer."

“Whoa, you two had fought necromancers and infernomancers? That must be a terrifying experience to deal with. Also, what are infernomancers by the way? Never heard of them before.”

"All the time," he said a bit grimly. He was on the fence if he would mention Jacob when the other question made him blink. He was so used to being around people who knew this stuff it was weird to be the one to explain it. "Um... basically mages who get their powers from demons. Like... um..." Oh he had a name didn't he? Probably. "that guy with the knives.. Ugh, Dominic would know his name. But he had a contract with the demon of... um... wounds or something..." he rubbed the back of his neck. "I might be the wrong Deegan to ask. I was more focused on not passing out and on all the good forest jokes I could use on the Sylvan Oracle once things calmed down..."

"Sure you are! Your magic is proof!" she said, cheerfully. "It's okay, you don't have to hide it, Harry and I are both very friendly!"

Rose’s squeaks begins to be heard after the little Pygmy Puff panics at the thought of people making deals with demons and using demonic magic so freehandedly. Hedwig meanwhile is horrified at the idea itself, is it as bad as those Horcruxes? The white owl wishes not to dwell on it too much either.

Harry is now sweat dropping in concern about these kinds of wizards, they are definitely just as bad as Death Eaters and dark wizards. Note to self: better avoid at all costs.

“Oh gee. Now that I think about it, I would not want to run into any of those terrible mages at all.”

“Oh yeah. She (Kyoko) does have a point. There is nothing wrong with having magic. We’re among friends today and we have some experiences with the Fae too. Once I was away from my world for so long, I had given up trying to hide my magic since the last world we have been has magic being freely used everywhere.”

"Yeah, no kidding. And if it was just infernomancers suffering during the demons' war," huh, odd that wasn't what he had meant to call it. Weird. "I think Dominic might have actually tried to stay of it, even though it is his nature to get dragged into helping everyone. But people with demonic wounds were suffering too... So he had to help."

It looks like they are very close to the boys dorms and yet they’re still freaking out over infernomancers. But you can’t blame Greg for being properly paranoid about them though.

“There are also people with demonic wounds too? Oh gee this is a pretty concerning situation to be in. I suppose that not all demons or people with demonic ties are that bad. I actually met a demon man back in Avalon and he doesn’t seem to be your stereotypical demon from what little I have interacted with him. Red hair, black sunglasses, wears black, looks mostly human.”

"Thankfully never met him." Or heard of that Avalon place. "I'm not the best at keeping my temper around demons." Or he didn't think he would be. He wasn't sure he'd ever actually met one.

"Hide it? I'm not hiding anything about having magic," the elf said, giving them both funny looks now, still holding the wine bottle up. "And no one but humans has ever said there was anything wrong with having it!"

He glanced at the glass, the liquid up to near its rim, and then quite deliberately resumed pouring more into it. Rather than falling over the rim, it continued on up as though the glass extended much further than it actually did as he talked. "I'm saying that she's calling me a species that I'm not and never have been." His eyes flicked to Mallia, but she simply shrugged, putting her hands up a little, briefly - yeah, she had no idea either, sorry! - and then he looked back to the two.

"Elves are fae. Fairies are fae. But elves aren't fairies." He stopped pouring again, eyed the impossible glass-more-than-ful of it he was holding, and then raised it to take a little sip, only to not have any yet as he turned to face Harry. "Wait, you were able to learn magic? But I take it you're human, given your appearance?" Delayed reaction, get?

Hedwig’s hoots and Rose’s squeaks soon alert Harry to the presence of the boys dorms. The young man nods in sympathy before looking at the many doors that could lead to the rooms.

“Ah okay. I understand. It must be not very easy to hold one’s temper at anything without losing it. I honestly learned it the hard way myself,” he speaks up as he tries to pick out which dorm room to go with.

“Do all the dorms here have the same layout?”

"More or less, again split by gender. The blue and green rooms were apparently the boy's rooms and they all have a bunch of stuff I'm not really familiar with - the TV and video game system - where as the pink and white rooms were apparently for the girls and have a lot more closet space."

For someone who hasn’t used much technology back in his world, Harry is going to have a hard time trying to make use of video game consoles and would very rarely use the TV that often. Back in his world, many wizarding school wouldn’t even have these luxuries and especially with normal human made tech. Still it is probably better than what he had in his relatives’s home in England, might as well be grateful about his foreseeable stay.

“So the ladies have a lot of space for clothes and the men have video games in their rooms? Ah okay. That is very much different from what I am used to in my old dorm at home. Maybe I will try to get used to checking out the consoles whenever I have the time.”

"Yeah, not sure why. Clothes seem a lot more useful than those boxy things. They said they're games, but I tried jumping rope with the one in my room and I think it broke. Not sure what other kinds of games it could be used for..."

“Oh absolutely. I’m goin to see what I can do with it besides watching announcements from the people ruling Auradon. And yeah, the extra closet space is more useful than having a telly that is going to be mostly useful for half the time we’ll be in campus.”

Eventually Harry comes across one empty dorm that doesn’t have anyone living inside at the moment, and he opens the door to find a standard two bed, two desk, and a modest closet space and dresser set up. And of course the TV and video game console Greg had mentioned. One must wonder who had designed the rooms originally before the Misrecalled arrived.

Hedwig though immediately flies towards the chair to relax on like a bird perch while Rose squeaks at him, asking him to put her down on the desk which he dutifully complies. The little pink Pygmy Puff happily hops onto the desk, energetically squeaks in delight.

"A telly? What does it tell ye?" he asked with a grin.

“That’s what a lot of British folks call TVs informally. I guess that we call it that because it can tell us nearly anything that it can relay from the other side of the cameras.”

"Tee vees? Ok, those weird boxes on the wall?"

"But Fae means fairies..." she said, so confused.

“Yeah Greg, something close to it. That would make a lot of sense.”

“Oh yes indeed, Sir. Magic does exist in my world too. Humans who practice magic in there are often called wizards and witches. My parents had magic too as they were a witch and a wizard like me even if my Mum was born into a normal family. Same with my friends as well. We even have schools where we are taught to how to use and grow our magic.”

The elf looked between the two of them, raising an eyebrow... and then it was obvious by the look on his face that he'd figured something out. "Well... first of all, fae does not mean fairies. But there's a reason the word 'fairy' starts with 'fae'. 'Fairy' literally translates to 'magic immortal butterfly'." He eyed Kyoko pointedly at that. "Ray-yee-ash," he said carefully, drawing out the sounds for her, "is our word for butterfly. So, it's fae-ray-yee-ash, but say it quickly, smush it up a bit, and you get fae-ree-ah, or fairy, see?"

Off to the side, Mallia was quietly raising a hand, to cover part of her face. Of course it would be something so mundane as a ridiculous language issue... why hadn't it occurred to her sooner that that might be the case?

"And it sounds like humans with magic are in the minority, where you live?" A look back to Harry again, finally taking a sip of his nonsensical serving of wine. "...But it's a known thing?"

"If they fall, does the wall get Tee'd off?"

"No no no," she insisted, cheerfully. "See the kanji for Faerie looks like this," she said drawing something in the air with her finger. But of course without magic there were no trails or other artifacts of her marks to leave them there. But it was two complicated characters. "See, Yosei. It means fairy or fae. And this," She drew another one, this one a single, but far more complex. "Cho. Butterfly. They look nothing alike at all," she said with a beamed smile.
