Adjusting your own sparring so that you and your partner always spar as if evenly matched. Our Master sometimes would give us each separate secret codes to tell us how to adjust our fighting so he could watch how long it took the other to adjust. After all, sparring has many uses such as learning, improving, being a good work out... but one thing sparring should never be about is winning or losing."
