"It helps that I genuinely enjoy what I do, but I'm not really innately talented; I studied and practiced and- as is the case for many creative professions- had a healthy does of luck at the right time."

To Kaylin, he gave a wry smile. "Hmm... I can't imagine why," he said dryly. "Regardless of your feelings on fashion however, you will likely need a change of clothes or two, and you'll find that I'm every bit as capable of making simple, practical clothing as I am elaborate gowns. And I'll be certain that any I make for you are extra durable, so they hold up during future mid-air tussles."
