"I'm not sure what those are," he admitted, maintaining his calm tone. "And if there's anything in the book about them, I haven't gotten to it yet. But I think there's an index in the back of the book, so I can check that and see if there's a mention."
He noticed the way Prompto's eyes darted around the room. Maybe he could use that to help him focus while he checked the book? "While I do that, how about you sit down, look around, and try to see if you can pick out an object of each color of the rainbow- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet- and list them off? Or if you think it would work better for you, maybe count the objects of a particular color to yourself or something. Anything that's a simple list of solid things to focus on, here and now."
Something simple and logical that had nothing to do with whatever was freaking him out, and that would hopefully help quiet the lizard brain fight or flight response and provide some grounding. Real and present things that had nothing to do with whatever imagined or remembered terror had its claws in him.
