"Yeah, but I'm also a kid," she said. "Even princesses don't get to do a whole lot when they're only six and a half; not official royal stuff anyway. The only time I even go to those fancy parties is when the whole royal family needs to be there. Otherwise I usually end up staying in my room. My mommy and daddy usually have some sweet mallow cakes sent up, but..."

She sighed, sitting down on the floor with Kyoko. "All the grown-ups who come to those parties either want to ask my parents to do stuff for them or just show off for other rich people and members of the Elder Houses. I might as well not even be there." Those words apparently trigger another vision as a new scene flickers into view.

Do more than waveSeen from the outside, we see Leia and what can only be her mother standing in a forest. Unlike the previous vision, this Leia looks only a few years older than her current self. She hands something to her mother who tucks it away in what seems like a back pocket, out of view.

"If you behaved as well as you climb, you'd be a Senator already," Leia's mother says, taking her daughter's hand and leading her back towards a waiting structure. Leia sighs and her mother does the same. "You'll have to change in the speeder. Come."

"It's not like anyone would miss me if I wasn't there," Leia says as two uniformed men who must be guards step into view from where they were previously hidden by the foliage and quietly fall into step behind mother and daughter.

"I'd miss you," her mother says with a bit of a smile.

"All I ever do is wave," Leia complains.

"Then do more than wave," her mother says. "You get out of this what you put into it." The vision fades out as they approach the arched entrance to the structure.

"That's my mommy," Leia in the present said for Kyoko's benefit. "And those are the woods next to the palace. I run off to play there a lot. There's a tree where you can see the ships coming and going from the spaceport if you climb up in it."
