The weather was still bitterly cold, and the snow was still thick on the ground, but it was finally possible to at least go outside by the front doors. The King and Queen have still forbidden anyone from staying overnight at the museum district in case it started snowing again. But the King could be seen outside trying to shovel snow enough to make a path to the castle at the least.

The snow was still too thick to get easily anywhere not shoveled, and the snow was so heavy that even beasted out, Ben needed to take constant breaks inside to sit down and dry off. This wasn't going to be a fast task.

It was only made harder when it started. For those who slept, it would start after they have fully awoken for the day. For those who don't sleep, they'd find that they had fallen into a pleasant daydream, even if it wasn't normal for them to do so. When they came out of it, that was when it would start for them.

But what is it, exactly?

Small snippets of memories, playing for anyone who was with the person remembering to see. But the thing was, these memories... were memories the person had not yet made. Memories of the future.

Not enough to give answers, probably not enough to give reassurances for much other than "oh hey, I do have a future after all," but generally pleasant, and short. Hey, it will give people a thing to talk about, at least. Especially since this will go on for the next two weeks or so.

"Yeah.... somtimes... you have to throw yourself against something over and over again." Gaining strength now. "And if there are walls in your path, you just have to knock them down!"

"Heh." He finally smirked. "That sounds like something Zack would say."

"That's what the Taisho at the place I work at always says."

"Taisho?" Sephiroth repeated. He was not from a Japanese culture.

She nodded. "The Taisho." She misunderstood the question. "One of my jobs is at a restaurant."

"... I see. But what is a Taisho?" He had heard of the Taisho Era, at least, but wasn't sure if that had any relation to this.

"What... oh. The chef at the restaurant. His waif is the Okamisan, she runs the front of the house. I'm mostly just extra help."

He nodded slowly. "I am not much familiar with Japanese culture. My world is closer to American."

He knew about various Earth lands from his travels to those worlds in his universe.

"Oh! Mr. Tsuruga acts like an American sometimes."

Mostly to tick her off. And that was clear on her face.

"You don't care for Americans?"

"What? Oh, no sorry... just.. someone I know sometimes uses being American as an excuse to do annoying things..."

"That would be irritating." And rather an insult, when he thinks of it....

"It is. He's too good an actor to behave like that, really," she grumped. "Mr. Tsuruga should remember to act Japanese when he's in Japan."

"He's the one you said was a fairy and didn't know it?"

She... had forgotten that she had told him that! But she nodded. "All the more reason he should behave better!"

"Did he ever find out he was a fairy?" Sephiroth still wasn't sure what to think of that tale, or if it was even true. It had sounded as though she often went on flights of fancy about fairies.

"No... one day his powers will come in and then he'll know..." she said, and now she was all sparkling and happy again.

That only made him doubt the truthfulness of it all the more. He doubted it was a good idea to question it too much aloud, but he did ask, "If he has no powers, what makes him seem like a fairy?"

"His perfect ratios, the fact that he can sparkle and shine like no human can." but mostly his perfect ratios.

"... He literally sparkles?" That was odd, he had to admit.

"Especially his ultra sparkling lying gentlemanly smile."

Well, that sounded more fangirly than anything else.

"He lies often?"

"Mostly to me," she mumbled, her excitement dimming. "He doesn't hate me anymore I don't think... but I don't think he likes me much either."

Oblivious protag is oblivious.

"Hm. At least not hating is progress," Sephiroth remarked. "Perhaps there will be more in the future."

"More.... what...?" All emotion seemed to have drained out of her and she looked blank and almost robotic.
